The problem that I have with this is that it moves the indicator a tiny bit that snaps back almost into the last position it was in with every click you feel on the crown as you turn it. You turn the crown to get the indicator to move. That is for adjusting the CHARGE indicator if it is not pointing straight down. You press and hold in the A button (upper right) for two seconds until you see CHR appear. If any hand is not in the position it needs to be in, that is where you better have a lot of time on your hands to adjust the hands. Pull the crown all the way out and you will watch all the of the hands align. How the hand calibration is performed is that you put the watch into the Chronograph mode. Where to get watch batteries replaced full#It has taken me almost a full day to calibrate the hands all back. When it comes to the hands needing calibration or reset to the zero positions, you better hope that you have a long long long time to waste on calibrating the hands. Citizen loves to use the crown on this watch for rolling between functions, etc. When I replaced that spring, somehow it reset my watch to all time being 0:00, which in turn made all my hands misaligned or no longer calibrated, whatever term you want to use. Now, on to the biggest gripe I have about this watch. Like Citizen has the right to tell me Service Center Only. I have replaced capacitors in my other solar watches in the past and they have been quite easy to do, nor does the watch tell me Service Center Only on it. Where to get watch batteries replaced how to#Now, I get it if you don't understand or know how to fix a watch, you have that option of taking it into them to have it repaired or the capacitor replaced. So, Citizen feels that the consumer should only take this watch into a Service Repair Center only. And I got what I wanted.Įnough of that back story. They are all 100% paid off and I never went outside of my budget. Not one of my watches that I purchased since 2010 have been put on credit, etc. During that time I learned the value of the dollar. I finally landed a job that I loved back in 2010, and I am still to this day working in the exact same field. I went for a year and a half without a job looking for everything under the sun, I even contracted myself out during that time (I'll tell you what, people are extremely hard to get money out of when they ask you to help them out. I did lose my job back in 2008 due to the Stock Market crash. I am not made of money nor do I have an unlimited supply of money, but that is OK as I have learned to make do about things. For that price they could have gave it sapphire glass, but instead it is this anti-refective mineral glass, where it obviously is still reflective. Even though this watch has been discontinued, it had a normal $695 shelf price tag on the thing. However, there are a few things that I think Citizen really screwed up on. While I do love this watch, there are a few gripes that I have about it.įirst off, I think the watch is extremely sexy and super accurate! It is comfortable to wear and it really has become one of my favorite watches in my collection. I have a factory refurbished Citizen Skyhawk A-T JY8051-08E that I have owned for a few years now. So, I apologize to other Citizen owners if I offended them in anyway about the setting on this watch. Where to get watch batteries replaced skin#Plus, I got to clean out the nasty dirt, oil and skin flakes that built up under the case back. Luckily, the problem seems fixed now! I still would like to know why the spring popped right out on me when I popped the case off? Anyway, the new spring in there is working better than ever and the sound actually sounds better than it did, which seems strange, but it does. Maybe this is why I should buy the watches new. I do still think that during the refurbishment of this watch they put in the wrong spring size since mine popped right out. I mean it works, but it never gets to the point of the hands freely moving like the U680 movement is supposed to have. I think mine has a defective crown on it. Anyways, this is about how freaking annoying it is to reset the hands if the watch gets reset. I call it as the company that sells it to me as a capacitor so that is what I am going to call them. UPDATE: This post was never intended to be about a capacitor vs a battery in a watch.
